Evaluation has been constructed over time to reflect what our society perceives as “mainstream.” As a field and profession, evaluation centers normative identities, problems, and solutions to the dominant narrative of merit and worth, which is rooted in white supremacy and colonialism. The identities, problems, and solutions from communities that don’t fit this mold are filtered and distilled to be palatable to the dominant culture of evaluation and maintain the status quo.

Removing these filters reveals a vibrant array of voices, representation, innovation, and knowledge that have not been given the space to shine.

The Minnesota Evaluation Association wants to normalize evaluation without filters. We want to encourage different voices and ideas to take up the space that they deserve –on their terms and through their own lenses. We want to gather in a space that values story, emotions, mistakes, non-linearity, and critical thinking toward liberation.

Join us virtually for the plenary sessions on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 for  EVALUATION (UN)FILTERED. This registration is for the virtual plenary sessions only. The in-person event registration is available here.

The are two plenary sessions and your registration covers both:

8:30-9:30 AM: Opening Plenary with Victoria Marie, Wachinhin Maza Winyan (Iron Plume Woman)

3:30-4:30 PM: Closing plenary with closing Plenary with Justin Terrell
