Check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. We encourage you to arrive a few minutes early to pick up your name badge, grab a cup of coffee, and connect with fellow attendees before we begin. Where do I check in? MNEA volunteers will greet you at the registration table near the main entrance and help you get checked in. How will I find my sessions? Unlike a traditional conference, the unconference agenda is created by participants at the start of the day. After the opening session, the day's discussion topics and meeting locations will be posted in a central location. Volunteers will be available throughout the day to help you find your next conversation. What if I've never attended an unconference before? You're in good company! Many attendees will be experiencing an unconference for the first time. We'll explain how the format works during our opening session, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. No special preparation is required—just bring your curiosity and willingness to learn with others. Who can I ask for help? If you have questions or need assistance at any point during the day, look for an MNEA volunteer. We're here to help and want you to feel comfortable navigating the conference. What if I need a quiet space or a break? We encourage you to care for yourself throughout the day. Quiet spaces will be available if you need to step away, recharge, or take a break before joining the next conversation. Food and BreaksWill food be provided? Yes! We'll have light refreshments available in the morning during check-in and again in the afternoon to help keep you energized throughout the day. Lunch is included with your registration. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions? When possible, we'll offer a variety of options to accommodate common dietary needs. Closer to the date of the conference, we'll send an email asking for any requests for accommodations or food allergies. We'll do our best to ensure there's something for you to enjoy. When are breaks? We'll take scheduled breaks throughout the day to give everyone time to recharge, connect with fellow attendees, and continue informal conversations. The day's agenda will include designated break times. Can I leave the conference during breaks? Absolutely. Feel free to step outside, take a walk, or enjoy some quiet time. Can I bring my own food or beverages? Yes. You're welcome to bring your own snacks, beverages, or lunch if that better meets your needs or preferences. |
