Suggest a Topic or Nominate a Speaker for an MNEA event!
MNEA plans and hosts events for the Minnesota Evaluation community and welcomes ideas for topics and speakers that will inspire, educate, and activate our members.
This form is intended to provide a space for us to more equitably identify potential topics to highlight and speakers to feature. As you suggest topics and nominate speakers, consider how we can provide a platform to address pressing issues in evaluation and amplify and engage voices that have not always been heard in our field.
Please read our statement below and then share your wisdom by suggesting a topic and/or nominating a speaker using the form!
Equity and Events Racist policies, practices, and norms create barriers to equity throughout society. When it comes to organizational events, the result of these inequities is a cycle that continues to deny opportunity, visibility, and voice to the people who are equipped to change our public, nonprofit and private organizations and systems. To counter this cycle, MNEA is working to create an organizational standard where speakers are intentionally selected for their various identities, backgrounds and expertise. We want events to provide a platform for evaluators within our communities’ array of socio-economic backgrounds; gender identities and sexual orientation; racial and ethnic identities; geography; and disabilities and health conditions. We are also able to provide a small speaker stipend to reduce financial barriers to participation and honor the wisdom shared with MNEA members. Our board knows that there is more to do to ensure our events are inclusive and accessible in the fullest sense. Please reach out to the MNEA Board of Directors at info@mnea.org with any feedback or ideas you would like to share to ensure our events are advancing equity in the field. |
