What is a project charter? Why have one? How might a project charter work in sync with other formal agreements, such as contracts or MOUs?
Please join the Minnesota Evaluation Association's Board President, Melissa Chapman Haynes, for a lunch event around the topic of project charters. A brief overview will be provided that highlights how project charters are used by project managers, and their importance. Following a brief presentation, participants will engage in small group discussions about when a project charter would or would not make sense in evaluation practice. Participants will share their ideas, which will be compiled and shared with all participants after the event.
Project management is one of the drafted competencies proposed by the AEA Task Force, though it is rarely a skill that has been formally taught to practicing evaluators. MNEA is committed to providing opportunities for evaluators of all abilities to have opportunities for professional development around the competencies. This is the fifth event around project management. The lunch series focused on project management will continue into 2019.
Parking: It is recommended that you either find metered street parking, or this is a ramp connected to Saint Anthony Main via tunnel, the St. Anthony Main Parking ramp. This is located on 2nd St SE and the rates are reasonable. There is also a bus that stops by the Lunds on University Ave, which is a couple of blocks away.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible parking is available in the St. Anthony Falls Ramp, one block from the theater (on 2nd Ave. SE, between University Ave. and 2nd St. SE). Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available on the first floor adjacent to the St. Anthony Main Theatre, to the left when exiting the theater into the adjoining indoor space, and just past Pracna.
This event will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 12-1 PM at Professional Data Analysts (PDA), 219 Main St SE, Minneapolis, MN, 55414.
