Translating Agile Project Management to Program Evaluation Practice – RESCHEDULED!

A MNEA lunch event in late August had to be rescheduled last minute due to a power outage. Given the high level of interest in this topic, we have rescheduled and relocated this event to a larger space. Please join the Minnesota Evaluation Association's Board President, Melissa Chapman Haynes, for an early evening conversation around the topic of agile project management. 

This event will begin with a high level overview of this approach to project management, and a brief resource sheet will be provided. Participants will engage in small group discussions about how this approach to project management, which is most often used in software development, might be translated into evaluation practice. Participants will share their ideas, which will be compiled and shared with all participants after the event. There is no need for prior knowledge around agile project management – the basics will be provided, with a strong focus on brainstorming which aspects of this approach might be useful for our practice.

Food and beverage will be available for purchase at the event. There is ample, free parking available on the street and in the parking lot outside of Pryes Brewing. The MNEA event will take plalce in a semi-private room, the Mill Room.

Project management is one of the drafted competencies proposed by the AEA Task Force, though it is rarely a skill that has been formally taught to practicing evaluators. MNEA is committed to providing opportunities for evaluators of all abilities to have opportunities for professional development around the competencies. This is the third event around project management. The lunch series focused on project management will continue for the rest of 2018, and into 2019.
