Please join Nicole MartinRogers, MNEA president-elect and her colleagues from Wilder Research, Ellen Shelton, Brian Pittman, and Ryan Evans, for a webinar about advanced qualitative methods. This skill-building session will help evaluators learn about and apply important qualitative research verification strategies and investigator responsiveness in ensuring reliability and validity in your process and end products.
We will rely on the seminal article by Morse et al., 2002 (Morse, J., Barrett, M., and Mayan, M. (2002). Verification strategies for Establishing Reliability and Validity in Qualitative Research. International Journal of Qualitative Methods, 1(2), 13-22.) and several project examples from Wilder Research to illustrate and learn how to apply the key verification strategies of methodological coherence, appropriate sampling, concurrent data collection and analysis, thinking theoretically, and theory development.
Participants will leave the session with greater awareness and confidence to carry out valid and reliable applied qualitative research. Participants will also learn about everyday practices that can help to maintain these standards in your work.
When: June 7, 12:00-1:00 PM (a recorded version will be available to view on the MNEA website after this date)
Cost: Free for MNEA members, $5 for non-members
