Join MNEA’s ongoing Making Connections series- a low‑key monthly gathering designed to nurture relationships, spark conversation, and strengthen community within the evaluation field. With rotating in‑person and virtual opportunities, the series offers flexible ways to connect in whatever format feels most accessible and comfortable.

This month, we’re hosting a virtual session on May 22 from 12:00–1:00 PM (CT) focused on “Building a Career in Evaluation”. Held on Zoom, this informal gathering will explore how evaluation careers take shape through relationships, lived experiences, and shared learning rather than linear paths or one “right” trajectory.

Rather than a formal presentation, this Making Connections session will create space for open conversation and peer exchange. Participants are encouraged to share their own career journeys, questions, and aspirations, learn how others have built skills and credibility over time, and exchange practical insights about gaining experience, finding mentors, navigating transitions, and identifying next steps at different career stages. The conversation will surface common challenges and strategies while centering connection, reflection, and mutual support.

The session will be facilitated by Noran Aly, MNEA Program Co‑Chair, who will help guide conversation and create a welcoming environment for both new and returning members.

Whether you’re new to evaluation, coming from a related field, considering your next move, or simply looking to reconnect, this is a low‑pressure opportunity to drop in, recharge, and build meaningful connections across roles and sectors.
